Growing up, did you ever wish your toys could come alive? And they could remember your favorite color, and tell you why the sky is blue? Donald Coolidge and JP Benini did. So they entered—and won—IBM’s Watson Mobile Developer Challenge. Through the challenge, they tapped into Watson’s unique cognitive computing powers in the cloud to build, test, and train what would become their creation: CogniToy. And by giving Watson a seat in the sandbox, they invented a toy dinosaur that learns from kids just as much as it teaches them. Now they’re imagining a future where cognitive computing is embedded into all kinds of toys and video games. Which means the fun’s just getting started.
