Every year, in conjunction with the Australian Financial Review, GradConnection announces the top 100 most popular graduate employers. Results depend on the success of advertising programs, employer branding and which employers attracted the most applications. This year, IBM achieved the Top Technology Employer Award for graduates, and was ranked the 3rd most popular graduate employer overall.
IBM Australia and New Zealand Recruitment Leader Belinda Atkinson graciously accepted the trophy at the GradConnection Top 100 Awards Night, and emphasized that graduates are a crucial part of IBM’s talent strategy.

“We have been very successful in finding graduates that possess the qualities that suit our business needs and values, and continue to be impressed by the quality of graduate talent we’re witnessing. As a technology business, innovation and new ways of thinking are not only important, but a cornerstone of our organization. Graduates bring fresh perspectives and ideas that help us to rethink the way we work and question the status quo. Given many graduates are also millennials, they also have a strong passion for technology. Graduates also represent the future of our business, and we believe that investing in and nurturing their talent is crucial for our longevity. At IBM, our graduates receive hands on mentoring, and also the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s biggest businesses to solve their most important challenges.”

“Irrespective of the role, we always look for people who have a sense of community, like being part of a team and have a strong sense of social responsibility. Graduates should always have a keen willingness to roll up their sleeves and soak up new skills, a can-do attitude and show initiative”
Congratulations to the IBM Australian and New Zealand Recruitment Team for their hard work! We look forward to celebrating your continued success in the coming year.
