My career journey…

In one word if I have to describe myself it would be “Enabler”. Having been with the IT industry for over 20 years, I have had the good fortune of working with some of the best IT companies, like Satyam Computers, CSC, Infosys, Mphasis, and now the Big Blue! It was a privilege to be associated with many of the Fortune 500 clients and more importantly helping in their transformational journeys.

Playing a key role in conceptualizing, strategizing, designing and driving large scale /complex business/ IT transformation Solutions for Major clients – I come with extensive experience in managing client accounts with an overall P&L responsibility and looking after customer relationship, project delivery, offshoring, financial management, cost reduction, service improvement, managing people, business development and service excellence.

I firmly believe that when you give your best to the organization, your best is reciprocated with open opportunities and personal growth which is what I have experienced vividly throughout my journey.

IBM offers plentiful opportunities to learn and grow under the Big Blue banner – and it is this offering that has helped me expand my knowledge and expertise.

You get to collaborate with the best talent from the industry. IBM is an organization of experts, who are leaders in their own capacity, solving the most difficult business problems & challenges in the world. IBM has an inclusive culture and in this open culture, each IBMer is encouraged to learn and build-up their capabilities. IBM lets us think big, come up with innovative and transformative ideas that matter to the world and the organization.

The work environment offers one the freedom to express ideas, innovate and deliver. The support extended by Senior Management, colleagues and teams is noteworthy. My areas of deep interest are at the nexus of Enterprise Mobility, Cloud Computing, the Internet of Things, and Cognitive and how to build cutting-edge business solutions using these technologies.

I am proud to be an IBMer, and to be part of such an amazing organization where I can dare to dream, execute my ideas, play around with cutting-edge technologies & build my expertise.

Advice to students on Skills to add to their learning…

Students who have an interest and inclination to the technologies of today should gain exposure under the three key drivers: Cognitive, Analytics & Automation.

Design Thinking is also a crucial skill to have as that helps to support the requirements and architect, develop and optimize systems and solutions to meet client and market requirements for an exceptional user experience.

  • The diversity and the work culture is one of the best in the industry. It is a flat organization with an inclusive culture where innovation and ideas are encouraged across level. Every individual in IBM is empowered and is a leader in his own capacity and is valued by the organization.
